Primary Priorities
Sadly for my short lived basketball career, I did not grow to be over 6ft (I barely made it to 5’5). I also never got very good at dribbling, but that’s not really relevant to this analogy. While I imagine being tall has to have many perks - you can reach high things without having to ask someone for help, you don’t have to risk your life by precariously climbing on things that aren’t meant to be climbed on, and you have a shot (maybe) at pro basketball - I’m also aware that being tall has its disadvantages.
My poor, disadvantaged 6’2 husband (please tell me you can sense the sarcasm) has very rarely been able to relax while taking a shower. The guy always has to squat and turn awkwardly to just get his hair wet. He doesn’t get to bask in the glory that is the water hitting the top of your head while standing straight up that my short frame allows. I am truly blessed.
All of that is about to change with the new house, however. Billy will finally have a shower with a shower head and ceiling height to allow for pure shower bliss. While this may seem goofy to most people, Billy is elated at the thought of this being his bathroom from now on. Like he seriously gets giddy about it. Keeping all of this in mind, it felt like the primary bathroom was a natural place to begin making this house our home.
I really want to keep this project as affordable as possible, because there’s not actually anything wrong with the room; it’s just not our style.
Check out the before photos and our moodboard below and be sure to stay tuned for how we turn this plain, boring bathroom into a relaxing retreat - on a budget!
